Exton Park gets Scottish distributor

Scottish merchant Inverarity Morton and English sparkling wine producer Exton Park have signed an agreement that will see the English fizz distributed in Scotland for the first time.

The Hampshire-based winery’s reserve non-vintage, blanc de noirs and rosé will be represented in the on- and off-trades by Inverarity.

Toby Sigouin, wine buyer at Inverarity Morton, said: “Exton Park’s sparkling wines have regularly outshone Grande Marque Champagnes in blind tastings, and have received very favourable reviews from many prominent wine writers and reviewers including Jancis Robinson MW.

“We have yet to see English wines enjoy the same growth in popularity in Scotland as they do down south but it’s merely down to the fact that consumers are largely unaware up here of the incredible wine that is now coming out of England. I am convinced that soon enough these bold producers will get the recognition they deserve.”

Commenting on the appointment, Exton Park’s sales and marketing manager Kit Ellen said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Inverarity Morton as we develop sales in Scotland. This is a very important market for us, and we believe that our pioneering approach to the new Non Vintage styles will soon win us many fans ‘North of the Border’.”
