For those tennis fan who didn’t have a ticket for The Championships, Wimbledon, they were treated to an experience of a lifetime, 800ft above London’s skyline – the other best place to watch Wimbledon! Even Greg Rusedski put in an appearance in celebration of Lanson’s 40th -associated year with The Championships, Wimbledon.
San Miguel hosted a three-day interactive consumer event in central London, targeting adventure seekers and inspiring them to celebrate life’s riches. Guests were treated to the UK premier of Birdly, a critically acclaimed virtual reality experience that recreates the wind, sights and even smells of flight. Birdly will transport guests to the clouds above New York, soaring over the city’s iconic skyline in a first for UK shores.
Guests were treated to a VIP Rioja terrace experience at LoveBox festival, sipping chilled wine, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the sounds of headliners Annie Mac, Jess Glynne and many more.

League One side AFC Wimbledon launcheed the club’s own lager, ‘Wimbledon 1889’. The beer is brewed by Wimbledon Brewery at its site in SW19. The date is significant for two reasons: 1889 was the year that Wimbledon Football Club (then known as ‘Wimbledon Old Centrals’) was founded, and it was also the year that the original Tower Brewery in Wimbledon Village burned down. Today’s Wimbledon Brewery logo features a phoenix rising from the flames of the old brewery.
Hine Cognac was the proud sponsor, for the 7th successive year, of the Painting Prize awarded to a final year masters student at The Royal College of Art, London. Enguerrand Leonetti, Hine’s Brand Ambassador, is pictured presenting Jadé Fadojutimi this years winner with a bottle of H by Hine to celebrate her success. Her winning work “Portrait of a Creep” will be shipped to France and added to the Hine art collection where it will be hung in their offices alongside the canvasses of previous winners.
Co-founders of Digby Fine English, Trevor Clough and Jason Humphries, celebrated the brand’s 4th anniversary by opening magnum No.1 of their Digby Fine English 2009 Vintage Rosé Brut (RRP £109.99). They hosted a blending salon to show their adventurous approach as England’s first negociant, before throwing a party featuring British design and creation at the Contemporary Applied Arts gallery – the home of British craft.

Paul Nunny, chief executive of Cask Marque, has won a lifetime achievement award from the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group for his contributions to the beer industry. In a career spanning over 45 years, Paul has set up and built a number of organisations which have improved the beer industry. Chief among them is Cask Marque, the beer quality organisation, who have now found 10,000 UK pubs to meet their exacting standards.
Michelin-star chef, Tom Sellers, partnered with Bombay Sapphire for an immersive dining and cocktail experience on board the Laverstoke Express showcasing each of Bombay Sapphire’s 10 botanicals.
Bombay Sapphire’s experiential event team had constructed a train in the Banking Hall in the heart of the City of London. The Grand Journey is set to take place between 17 and 23 July.

db‘s Phoebe French headed to Dirty Bones’ new Soho site to sample its new seasonal summer cocktail menu (with a few added extras.) Pictured are Some Like it Hot, Bow Down Peaches, Pining for You and Pickleback. Dirty Bones also served up its Lavender Martini and Grown- Ups Jaffa.
db was lucky enough to enjoy a day at the polo this week with Louis Roederer, who sponsor the Cowdray Gold Cup at Cowdray Park in Midhurst. We watched the semi-final, where all-English team El Romancero triumphed over Sommelier in a nail-biting, high-octane match. On hand to keep our flutes topped up was Louis Roederers über glam brand ambassador, Marinel Fitzsimons.
The Brut Premier flowed all afternoon, much to the delight of db’s Lucy Shaw.
Over lunch, polo guru Claire Milford-Haven taught MMD’s fine wine director Mark Bingley MW the basics of the sport, and where to shove his mallet.

Rioja stalwart Faustino has launched an ambitious international project in conjunction with Spanish Michelin starred chef Eneko Atxa of Azurmendi.
Tate the World will be launched in Spain, China and the UK over the coming months, and will bring together the wines of Faustino with the high-end culinary creations of one of Spain’s hottest chefs.
Roger Jones, owner of The Harrow at Little Berwyn, hosted a celebration of Alsace Wines on Sunday, highlighting the diversity of this region. Alsatian Eric Zwiebel MS was on hand to guide the guests through the wines, with assistance from the glamorous Emma Wellings of Emma Wellings PR.
Among the dishes served was sashimi of scallop & Dorset crab with Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Muscat Grand Cru Goldert 2013.
Among the more madcap dishes was beef carpaccio, foie gras and a salted caramel macaroon, which was paired with the steely Domaine Lucas & Andre Rieffel Riesling Vieilles Vines 2014.
