Veuve Clicquot unveils ‘Extra Brut Extra Old’ Champagne in HK
Veuve Clicquot has unveiled a new wine called ‘Extra Brut Extra Old,’ a cuvée blended from its reserve wines, touting longer ageing and lower dosage for the Hong Kong market.
Launched by the Champagne house’s cellar master Dominique Demarville in Hong Kong, the Champagne is made using six vintages of its reserve wines spanning over three decades from 1988 to 2010.
Described by the cellar master “an extraction of Yellow Label” when launching the wine in London earlier this year, the wine is said to carry Yellow Label’s trademark characters and toasty smoothness.
After blending, the wine is aged for another three years for ‘enhanced depth and nuances’, according to the Champagne house.
The wine is available for tasting from 3-14 June at Timothy Oulton gallery on Gough Street in Hong Kong.
