Simpsons Estate opens for visits
English wine estate Simpsons has announced it will be running a limited number of tours and tastings around the new facilities and vineyard this summer.
The Kent-based estate plans to hold one tour a month between now and August with each visit including a stroll in the newly planted vineyards, a look at the new winery and a tasting – though only of the Simpsons’ Languedoc sparkler for now as the first vintage of English wine is still ageing in bottle.
Co-owner, Ruth Simpson, said: “Wine tourism is very important for us and increasingly important to Kent, as the Garden of England. We’ve always wanted to welcome wine lovers to our English estate, so we are very excited to start hosting regular tours. Visitors will have a chance to discover our Roman Road vineyard, which was planted in 2014, our state-of-the-art winery and enjoy a tasting of our French wines. We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of guests over the summer months and from the autumn will be hosting the tasting session in our ‘Glasshouse’ tasting room, complete with helter-skelter slide!”
