Lanson joins Wolfgang Puck for Spago pop-up in London

Champagne Lanson is to join US celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck as he brings his Spago restaurant to London for the first time, with the house’s owner offering up 12 Magnums of 1982 from his private cellar to mark the occasion.

Puck’s flagship Spago restaurant opened in the US 35 years ago on the Sunset Strip in California and now has venues at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Four Seasons in Maui, as well as in Istanbul and Singapore, with Champagne Lanson its pouring partner from the beginning.

Now, Puck is bringing his debut restaurant to London with a four day pop-up at CUT at 45 Park Lane, Puck’s American steak restaurant which opened in 2011 and marked the chef’s debut in Europe, to celebrate Spago’s 35th anniversary

Puck said it was a “dream come true” to be able to bring his first restaurant to London. For four days, the Austrian-born chef, in collaboration with Spago’s chef de cuisine Tetsu Yahagi and CUT at 45 Park Lane’s executive chef David McIntyre, will serve a Spago-inspired menu for both lunch and dinner service.

Signature dishes include squid ink Garganelli served with Maine lobster, veal tartare with applewood smoke mascarpone and grilled cuttlefish with sautéed tripe and black pudding.

Champagne Lanson’s owner, Philippe Baijot, will be providing 12 magnum bottles of Lanson’s 1982 vintage Champagne, plucked from his private cellar, for the occasion.

A restaurateur and chef by trade, Puck is also a well-known face on screen, appearing as himself in CSI, Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef and reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians as official chef of Kim Kardashian’s wedding to first husband Kris Humphries.

Spago’s pop-up will run from 28 June to 1 July, with dinner reservations only on 28 June, and lunch and dinner reservations available from the 29th onward. For more information email Cut.45L@dorchestercollection.com or call +44 (0)20 7493 4545.
