Doidge has been recruited to build and develop distributor and customer relationships, create new business opportunities and assist with marketing and events to ensure that Santa Rita’s wine brands remain relevant to the UK market.
Doidge has worked in the wine industry for over 20 years including positions within sales and marketing at Paragon Vintners, Pernod Ricard and Lanson.
She has gained significant experience in the commercial arena as well as having winemaking, marketing, strategic and brand development experience.
Doidge’s most recent role was on-trade sales director at Sogrape, where she developed and grew the Sogrape brands in the UK market.
“I’m delighted to be joining a company with heritage, authenticity and such international brands,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to joining the small but perfectly formed European team, the role is an exciting one.
“With the Santa Rita Estate brands continuing to perform well on a global basis, I look forward to the challenge of building on the success we have achieved in the UK market,” she added.
Santa Rita’s export director for Europe, Terry Pennington, added: “This new appointment further reinforces the commitment we have to the UK market. Despite a turbulent political and economic climate, Santa Rita Estates will continue to invest in this market.
“We are very much looking at the long term goals and with our new partnerships in place we are well placed to achieve these ambitions.”
