Veuve Clicquot launches Rich Collection in HK
Champagne house Veuve Clicquot has recently unveiled its ‘Rich Collection’ in Hong Kong, designed for crafting ‘customised’ Champagne cocktails.
The cocktails made with the Rosé Champagne from the collection are now available in Hong Kong for the first time at Zuma restaurant.
The collection – a blanc and a rosé – was created by the Champagne house in collaboration with professional mixologists to create a whole new range of wine with a higher dosage for sweetness and flavour, the company said. It also increased the use of Meunier to emphasise “fresh, fruity, gourmand notes”.
Veuve Clicquot’s cellar master, Dominique Demarville, explained: “Sugar in Champagne is like spices in a recipe – if used correctly, it can bring out specific aromas and play with the flavours.”
One highlight of the Champagne collection, previously only available in Hong Kong’s Armani Privé and Ozone, is that it allows wine lovers to create their own Champagne cocktails by mixing the Champagne with fresh ingredients and ice.
The collection also comes with a new ‘Veuve Clicquot Rich Basket,’ containing a bottle of Rich Champagne and two glasses.
Both the blanc and rosé have a dosage of 60g/l, falling into the doux category in the Champagne sweetness scale. Demi-sec has between 32 and 50g/l of residual sugar.
