The HK$1m Croizet experience at the InterCon
The InterContinental Hotel in Hong Kong is offering a “VVIP” experience to guests for over HK$1 million which includes a bottle of its 1858 Cuvée Leonie and a private trip to the Cognac region.
The Cuvee Leonie 1858 – the world’s ‘most expensive’ Cognac… and yours
For the auspicious price of HK$1,288,888 (US$166,094), guests will be living in the ultimate lap of luxury at Hong Kong’s five star InterContinental Hotel in a package which combines the world’s most expensive Cognac, a Presidential Suite, 24-hour private butler, infinity swimming pool and a trip to Charentes, the birthplace of Croizet.
Reportedly the tipple which Winston Churchill and General Dwight D. Eisenhower drank on the eve of D-Day, Croizet Cognac also set a Guinness world record for the most expensive cocktail, which was made by Joel Heffernan at Crown Melbourne Club 23 and sold for US$12,500 in 2013.
More recently, its Cuvée Leonie 1858 made new headlines for being reportedly the world’s most expensive shot ever poured at HK$68,000 (US$8,765) on 9 November (the same day at the US Presidential elections) at the InterContinental Hong Kong – the only place in the city to buy the Cuvée ‘Leonie’ 1858.
So for just over HK$1.2 million, the VVIP Cognac Experience at the InterContinental involves an overnight stay in the hotel’s Presidential Suite which has a 24-hour butler, a 2,500 square foot rooftop with infinity pool and Jacuzzi, plus a bottle of the Cuvée ‘Leonie’ 1858, dinner and wine pairing and breakfast for two. A Bentley limousine pick-up service is available for those coming from abroad.
The package also includes a trip to Cognac for up to four people and involves a private limousine to Charentes for a one night and two day stay, a private tour of the Croizet vineyards, museum and cellars, a private tasting with the cellar master and also the chance for guests to make their own blend from their birth year.
Meals at some of the best restaurants in Charentes are also included as well as a tour around the Cognac region on the second day.
Cognac enthusiasts should hurry, though, as the InterContinental is only allowing three experiences for this year, which all of course, require much-in-advanced booking.
For those who have a more limited budget, the InterContinental is also offering an a la carte Croizet pairing menu which includes the likes of wok-fried Wagyu beef and black peppercorns served on a hot stone for HK$250 (US$32) paired with a glass of 1988 Croizet for HK2,350 (US$300).
The Presidential Suite also includes a private terrace and infinity pool
