The Bar Awards comes to Bangkok
After successful events in Singapore and Hong Kong, the team behind the Bar Awards will open the nomination process in Bangkok for the Bar Awards 2017 which seeks to recognize the best in the drinks trade.
The Bar Awards Bangkok 2017 will officially begin from 1 March with a two-week long public nominations process where consumers can vote for their favourite bartender or bar, with professionals also being able to nominate themselves too.
After the public nominations have closed, the process will continue with two rounds of voting by The Panel which consists of around 30 people from all aspects of the F&B industry, including bar professionals, owners, journalists and chefs.
The first round of voting will decide the top 10 with the shortlist announced on 20 March and then the overall winners will be revealed at the Bar Awards party on 23 April.
The Bar Awards will also move to Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur throughout this year with public nominations for Singapore launching on 1 May, for Hong Kong 1 July, and Kuala Lumpur on 1 September.
There are 12 different categories including:
- Best Cocktail Bar
- Bartender of the Year
- The Ada Coleman Award which goes to female bartenders
- Best New Cocktail Bar
- Most Creative Cocktail Bar
- Best Hotel Bar
- Best Hospitality Team
- Best Bar Food
- Best Bar and Beverage Publication
- Best Beer Bar
- Best Restaurant Bar
- The Rising Star Award which is open to all bartenders born on or after 1 January 1989
Launched in Singapore in 2014, The Bar Awards also debuted in Hong Kong last year and has grown to garner strong support from the bar and restaurant industry.
