Pommery re-enters HK after two-year hiatus
After an almost two year hiatus, Champagne Pommery has re-entered the Hong Kong market with an exclusive distribution agreement with Connoisseur Wines & Spirits.
The whole range of wines including ‘Pop’, Brut Royal, Rosé, Royal Blue Sky and its premier label Cuvée Louise, will be available in Hong Kong, François Carquillat, sales manager of the Hong Kong merchant, has revealed to dbHK.
The company signed the agreement with the Champagne house last December, the wines arrived in Hong Kong last week and are now available, starting from HK$100 and rising to HK$1,200 a bottle.
Explaining the re-launch, Carquillat said, the Champagne house has a strong presence in Japan, North Asia and Australia but for the past two years, after its previous distributor in Hong Kong went out of business and cleared out its stocks, it had stayed away until a suitable new partner had been found.
Founded in 1856, Pommery is one of the largest Champagne houses with an annual production of more than five million bottles.
The Champagne estate was recently named as the Presidential House for the 2017 Champagne Academy.
