It will also be shown during the Scotland and Wales match in Edinburgh, and the Wales and Ireland match in Cardiff, followed by an outdoor campaign and on-pack promotion for the wine brand later in the year.

Mark Kears, Managing Director UK & IRE at brand owner Les Grands Chais de France said he was delighted by the high profile media campaign, noting that because the matches are aired live on BBC TV with full-time highlights shown around the world, the campaign would give Calvet “some prized prime-time exposure”.

“It’s a significant part of this year’s promotional spend, and we believe it underpins and reaffirms [Calvet’s] place as the no 1 selling French brand in the UK for 2017, as well as raising its profile in the run up to the celebrations for Calvet’s 200th anniversary in 2018,” he said.
