Carlsberg launches UK craft brewing competition
Carlsberg UK has launched ‘YOUR BEER, here?’ a competition offering craft brewers and importers the opportunity to have one of their brews listed in Carlsberg’s Crafted 2017 portfolio and handbook.
Crafted 2017 will be published in April, and last year featured craft beers grouped into tasting profiles including ‘light & delicate,’ ‘balanced & rounded,’ ‘zingy & bitter,’ and ‘rich & full-flavoured.’ Applicants should submit beers that compliment this portfolio.
The winning beer will be listed in Crafted, making it available to be stocked in thousands of pubs, bars and restaurants across the country for a year through Carlsberg UK.
Entries will be reviewed and a shortlist will be judged by an specialist panel featuring beer writer, Pete Brown; former journalist and hospitality industry expert Mark Stretton; and two members of the Crafted portfolio team from Carlsberg UK.
Marketing manager for Crafted at Carlsberg UK, Adrian Rigby, commented: “The craft beer category is brilliant, diverse and innovative, but above all, it’s competitive and the route to market can be challenging. That’s where we can help. As a brewer, we are committed to building the craft beer category and community in the on-trade and believe that through this opportunity and the established profile of our award-winning Crafted handbook, that we can give an up-and-coming craft star a helping hand.”
To enter, visit www.wearecarlsberg.co.uk/crafted-competition-2017 for the terms and conditions and entry form. The entry form should be submitted to Crafted@carlsberg.co.uk. Beer samples should be sent to accompany the entry form, ready for tasting. Entries must be submitted by 5pm, 3 March 2017.
