White Russian Mr. Whippy launched
Keen to lure the virtuous away from their saintly resolutions, Duck & Waffle has created a boozy Mr. Whippy ice cream based on a White Russian cocktail.
Whip it good – Duck & Waffle’s tempting new White Russian Mr. Whippy
Made with a generous slug of Grey Goose vodka, the Mr. Whippy soft serve comes drizzled in Kahlua sauce and is served with a 99p flake.
Jeff Bridges would no doubt approve of the naughty treat – the White Russian was a favourite of his memorable character ‘The Dude’ in the Coen brothers 1998 hit, The Big Lebowski.
The cocktail appears on head mixologist Rich Woods’ ‘anti resolution’ menu, which will headline at Duck & Waffle throughout January.
Featuring decadent ingredients like foie gras, truffle, salted maple and chocolate, also on the menu is the Popcorn Fall, made with Bourbon, popcorn sugar and claret.
The Cookie D’oh Flip meanwhile, features Coganc, chocolate, a cookie infusion and a whole egg, while the Truffled Fig Sazerac blends Cognac, rye, absinthe sugar and truffled fig bitters.
With the first recorded reference to the cocktail appearing in 1965, a traditional White Russian is made with vodka, coffee liqueur and milk or cream, and is served in an Old Fashioned glass.
In The Big Lebowski, The Dude refers to the drink as a “Caucasian”. All of the cocktails on the anti-resolution menu cost £14.
