Gaucho launches CNY cocktail range

Rooster – Matcha Sour 

Starting with this year’s animal, the Rooster, Gaucho has created a punchy Matcha Sour, made with Bulleit Bourbon, lemon juice and Chinese Matcha syrup, suitable for all Roosters who are courageous, confident and apparently, a little on the flamboyant side.

Year of the Rooster: 2017, 2005, 1993, 1981, 1969

Dog – Sweet Potato Cooler 

Dogs are loyal, courageous and social and are paid homage to in Gaucho’s Sweet Potato Cooler mocktail – a stimulating combination of homemade sweet potato water and cranberry juice.

Year of the Dog: 2018, 2006, 1994, 1982, 1970

Pig – Apple From Fujian

Ah, the philanthropic, social and optimistic Pig will delight in the Apple from Fujian mocktail with its fun and fruity mix of apple juice, elderflower cordial, cucumber and Chinese Jasmine tea.

Year of the Pig: 2019, 2007, 1995, 1983, 1971

Rat – Cheesecake Martini 

Gaucho’s Cheesecake Martini will charm all Rats out there with an elegant and creamy blend of Ketel One, Frangelico and vanilla syrup served with mascarpone cheese. Known as the first animal in the Chinese zodiac, Rats are quick-witted, versatile and artistic.

Ox – Lemongrass Mojito 

Known to be strong, steady and determined, traits of the Ox are reflected in Gaucho’s take on the classic virgin Lemongrass Mojito – perfect for any tenacious Ox doing Dry January or FebFast.

Tiger – Spicy Passionfruit Sakerinha 

Tigers are fiery and confident leaders with plenty of ambition. The Spicy Passion Fruit Sakerinha is an exotic blend of lime and passionfruit served with sake, adding that extra bold kick to any Tiger’s life.

Rabbit – Lai See Cocktail

Who doesn’t love the friendly, joyful and sincere Rabbit? One of the most social signs of the zodiac, – the Rabbit will make a bunnyhop to Gaucho’s Lai See Cocktail, a mixture of green tea-infused Ketel One, lime juice, Cointreau and cranberry juice.

Dragon – Hu Seng Ma Lei

All eccentric, imaginative and artistic Dragons out there will love Hu Seng Me Lei, a fiery twist on the classic Bloody Mary, flavoured with Sichuan chilli peppers to add that touch of heat for the colder months.

Snake – Viper Martini 

Intelligent, attentive, and strong-hearted, Snakes are able to handle a lot.  Be outrageously serpentine with Gaucho’s Viper Martini – a venomous cocktail of Tanqueray 10 combined with Lillet Blanc and a splash of absinthe – and we just love the lemon S-shaped spiral garnish to top it off. Hissingly good.

Horse – Horseneck 

A robust classic for all Horses out there who are ambitious, strong and loyal.  The Horseneck cocktail consists of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, ginger ale and aromatic bitters with a defiantly independent streak.

Goat – Basil Smashed 

Gaucho’s Basil Smashed is a fun and floral blend of Tanqueray 10, lemon juice, elderflower cordial and fresh basil leaves – a calm and soothing cocktail for Goats who are known to be elegant, tasteful and warm characters.

Monkey – Mandarin Punch 

Known for their naughty characteristics, Monkeys are charming, smart and quick-witted and able to get away with anything. Gaucho’s Mandarin Punch is a mischievous combination of muddled fresh Mandarin to represent luck, as well as Havana 3 year old, Grand Marnier and lemon juice.
