Intervitis organisers pleased with expanded concept
The organisers of the ‘Intervitis Interfructa Hortitechnica’ fair in Stuttgart have expressed their satisfaction with this year’s expanded show.
Taking place from 27-30 November, this year the fair, in addition to its wine and fruit technology elements, welcomed those involved in “special crops” as well.
Overall, some 25,347 visitors from 57 countries attended the show, 70% of them being involved in the wine and spirits industry.
In addition to being able to see the latest innovations in farm machinery, bottling lines and vineyard creation, there were a number of talks given by wine trade bodies such as the German Winegrower’s Association.
Taking place over the three-day fair, over 1,000 people came to see 150 keynote speakers discuss topics such as climate change and globalization, managing protected designations of origin and growing vines on steep slopes.
“The figures show that we were right on target with the extension of the concept. We are delighted that the German Winegrowers’ Association and the German Agricultural Society provided numerous impulses for this year’s trade fair and that they were so well received”, explained Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, president of Messe Stuttgart.
