‘Gigglewater’ Prosecco in a can launched

A new Prosecco brand called ‘Gigglewater’ is due to launch in the UK in January with a range that includes a Frizzante Secco housed in a 20cl can.

Yes, we can – Gigglewater Firzzante Secco

Gigglewater is a “new lifestyle-led sparkling wine brand” aimed at millennials and female consumers that takes its name from a slang term for alcoholic drinks from Prohibition era America.

The brand hopes to capitalise on booming sales of Prosecco, as reported in db last week.

“With growth of sparking wine continuing we are really excited to be launching a brand into this dynamic category,” said Catherine Monahan, Gigglewater’s founder and CEO.

“By initially leading with Prosecco, Frizzante and ‘Secco’ we retain the Italian link while allowing ourselves the flexibility to move away from Italy in the future and build a global brand,” she added.

The Gigglewater portfolio includes 75cl bottles of Prosecco DOC, 20cl cans of Frizzante ‘Secco’ and a range of flavoured sparkling wines, which will go on sale in the UK in January, with plans for online sales in Australia and China via Cellar Link.

The cans of Frizzante ‘Secco’ are made from Glera grapes from the Marca Trevigiana region, but can’t be called Prosecco due to strict Italian labelling regulations for cans.

Bottles of Gigglewater Prosecco DOC have an RRP of £9.99, while cans of Frizzante ‘Secco’ retail at £1.99 each.

The cans of sparkling wines, with flavours including Strawberry & Rhubarb, Peach and Pink Bubbles Rosé have an RRP of £1.89.

Hi, I’m wondering where I can purchase the cans of sparkling? I am organising the food and beverage for a spring festival. Many thanks
