Wines of Germany toasts Riesling Weeks success
At this year’s Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair, Wines of Germany announced the winners of its month-long trade campaign in Hong Kong.

Ninety outlets participated this year and championed Germany’s beloved Riesling in the annual Riesling Weeks campaign which was held in June this year across Hong Kong.
All reported an increase in sales of German Riesling compared to previous trading months, with many of the Asian and Chinese restaurants receiving particularly positive comments from customers who appreciated the pairing of German Riesling and Asian and Chinese dishes.
Riesling Weeks culminates in a ‘Best Run Campaign Award’ based on overall sales and marketing activities with the winner announced during the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair by Manuela Liebchen, Asia area manager for Deutsches Weininstitut GmbH.
First prize went to Hoi King Heen, Intercontinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong who wins a sommelier trip to Germany, whereas specialist German wine retailer, Schmidt Vinothek and Kylix Wine Club came second and third, winning an advertorial in Marie Claire and a Vintec Classic series 120 bottle-wine cabinet respectively.
Cuisine Cuisine, King’s Wine Cellar, Nanhai No.1, Tacho Wine, The American Club, The Bottle Shop and Yui Kee all placed in the top 10 and each won a Schott Zweisel wine decanter.
Wines of Germany also announced the sixth running Riesling Weeks in Hong Kong which will continue in June next year.
