Will Ferrell-themed ‘Stay Classy’ bar heads to LA
A New York-based Will Ferrell-themed bar named ‘Stay Classy’ after the catchphrase of Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy is coming to LA, in the form of a pop-up.
Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy
The original Stay Classy, New York bar opened in New York’s Lower East Side last year. The off-beat bar pays homage to the comedian through its Ferrell-inspired art gallery and one-liner drinks menu, which includes the ‘Glass Case of Emotion’, and ‘Milk was a Bad Choice’, both inspired by Anchorman.
Now, the bar is expanding its unique concept to Los Angeles, where it plans to open a pop-up version on 5 December at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater in the heart of Hollywood.
While the pop-up will run for a limited 10 day period, there is the potential to expand it into a permanent venue, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Ferrell has no official affiliation with either bar, but a portion of proceeds from the LA pop-up will go to Ferrell’s charity Cancer for College, helping offset the costs of higher education for students who’ve been affected by cancer.
While Ferrell’s characters are numerous, from Buddy the Elf to Stepbrothers‘ Brennan Huff, he is perhaps best known as Ron Burgundy in comedy classic Anchorman.
