Memorial service for Ben Campbell-Johnston announced

Details of the memorial service arrangements for the much-loved drinks trade personality Ben Campbell-Johnston have been announced.

Trade friends and colleagues of Ben are invited to attend the memorial service on Thursday 24 November at 2pm at St Mary’s The Virgin Church in Ben’s home town of Chiddingstone, Kent.

Following the church service friends and family will gather at The Rock Inn, Chiddingstone Hoath, Kent, TN8 7BS, where people will have a chance to celebrate Ben’s life and pay their respects.

This will follow a private family service in the morning.

Ben’s wife, Kate Campbell-Johnston, respectfully requests that those people wishing to attend the memorial service notify Danny Cameron via email at dancam@me.com.

Having enjoyed a career spanning over 20 years in the trade, Ben Campbell-Johnston had a particular passion for fortified wine.

He co-founded and helped drive the success of the now annual ‘Big Fortified Tasting (b.f.i) as well as the ‘Fizz’ event dedicated to sparkling wines.

He began his career at Oddbins in 1992 and worked with the Symington family (to whom he was related) from 1993-1995. He spent 10 years as the PR and marketing manager at Fells until founding his own business in 2008 through which he helped found The Big Fortified Tasting and Fizz.

He was also director of The British Humane Association for nearly 30 years.
