Gaucho launches online Argentine wine shop
London restaurant chain Gaucho has opened an online wine shop specialising in Argentine wines.
Phil “Mr Argentina” Crozier
Launching this month, Gaucho’s Online Wine Shop will offer a range of Argentine wines, previously only available at Gaucho restaurants, by the bottle at retail prices.
Its launch has been spearheaded by Gaucho’s director of wines, Phil Crozier, known by many in the wine trade as “Mr Argentina”. Crozier has built a reputation as an expert on wines from the region over the past 17 years, spending long stretches in the country to discover new labels for the restaurant’s wine list.
In 1999, Crozier became the first buyer to launch an all-Argentine wine list outside of the country, and later launched an all-Argentine wine list featuring wines exclusive to to the restaurant chain in 2015.
Now, wines exclusive to the chain will be available to buy at retail prices through its online wine shop, which will feature, among others, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Torrontes, Semillon and Pinot Noir from Patagonia.
Prices start from £11 a bottle and rise to £167.75 for a bottle of Flichmann ‘Parcella 26’ Malbec, with a minimum purchase of six bottles required.
