Anne Burchett to leave Sopexa on Thursday
Anne Burchett, who is managing director for the UK and Ireland at French communications agency Sopexa, has resigned after almost seven years at the helm of the company.
Born in France, Burchett has lived and worked in the UK for more than 25 years, and has held a number of high-profile posts in the drinks industry, from UK sales and marketing director at Skalli Fortant de France, to off-trade sales director at Waverley TBS, and managing director at Castel UK.
However, she started her career outside the drinks industry, having taken up a role in 1985 as sales manager for Procter & Gamble, based in Paris.
She joined Sopexa in February 2010, and has spent her time at the food and wine pr agency overseeing a number of major campaigns in the UK and Ireland for clients such as InterLoire, Chablis and the Bureau Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne.
Anne will leave the company on 10 November.
Sylvain Rouchy, who is managing director for northern Europe at Sopexa, said, “We would like to thank Anne for her dynamism over the last seven years. Her excellent knowledge of the British market and the British culture has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the campaigns we have implemented for our clients. We are in the process of seeking the right candidate to replace Anne. We have however a strong and talented team in the UK office, which I am confident will manage the business in the interim period.”
