CYT extends Manchester United deal for Casillero
Concha Y Toro has extended its Casillero del Diablo sponsorship deal with Manchester United for another three years.
The Chilean wine brand, which signed on as the official wine sponsor of the premier league football club in 2010, will support the club until 2019, it announced this week.
Concha y Toro’s corporate marketing director global brands Cristobal Goycoolea said the company’s flagship brand Casillero del Diablo shared “the pillars of history, tradition and values” with Manchester United.
“These three characteristics have made this alliance a true global success. We are very proud to renew our contract, and it motivates us to continue working the way we always have,” she said.
This year the Chilean wine giant’s flagship brand overtook Gallo and Jacob’s Creek to become the fifth best-selling wine brand in the UK, having only entered the UK top 10 wine brands for the first time the previous year. It also boasts the highest average per bottle price of any of the brands in the UK top 10 at £6.16.
In August the Chilean parent company reported strong sales of Casillero del Diablo helped push global profits 32.3% at Concha y Toro to Ch$13,248m in the second quarter of 2016.
Concha Y Toro’s Argentinian brand Bodegas Trivento is an official partner of England’s Premiership Rugby and last year extended its association until the end of the 2017 season.
