Acker presents ‘L’ 50th auction in HK
New York auction house, Acker, Merrall and Condit has announced the date of its upcoming ‘L’ Hong Kong auction which will feature a plethora of First Growths and Super Seconds.
Lot 70: Château Pichon Lalande 1986
Taking place on 5 November at Grissini at the Grand Hyatt, Acker’s ‘L’ auction showcases over 1,000 lots and marks the auction house’s 50th sale.
It will be led by the ‘Immaculate Collection’ which is offered over five lots and features classic vintages of Angelus, Ausone, Cheval Blan and Petrus as well as Quintarelli, Lafleur and Angelus and Napa cult, Screaming Eagle.
In the second part of the auction, Chateau de le Tour’s winemaker, Francois Labet, has bestowed a direct consignment from his cellars which includes rare back vintages of Clos Vougeot – 1949 to 2010 in bottle and magnum format.
Labet has also included large formats of his extremely rare cuvee, ‘Hommage a Jean Morin’ 2010, which is in celebration of his late grandfather and founder of Confrérie du Tastevin. Morin was responsible for the modern era of the Chateau and its vineyard holdings, which are the largest within the Clos de Vougeot.
Additional highlights of Acker’s sale include a three-bottle lot of 2007 Romanee Conti and nearly twenty full case lots of Domaine Dujac.
Acker’s chairman, John Kapon said: “This is an amazing auction to help celebrate our 50th auction! L stands for 50, but it also stands for love, the love we have for all of you, and the love we share for the world’s greatest wines.”
Acker will also host its third Connoisseurs’ Club auction this Wednesday, 19 October at Oasis in the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.
