Mr & Mrs Fox to run monthly Tanqueray pub quiz
Who lost the Rugby Sevens final this year? Hong Kongers test their knowledge as Quarry Bay’s chic urban hangout Mr & Ms Foxlaunches a new monthly pub quiz, supported by Tanqueray.
The next quiz is scheduled for 11 October from 7-9pm and will run every second Tuesday each month. There are six different subjects of 10 questions each covering world news, literature, art, sports, films and music with winners scooping a trophy and a HK$1,000 bar tab.
Previous questions have been:
- Name three places other than HK where Art Basel was held?
- Who lost the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens final this year?
- Is a dolphin a mammal?
- Who wrote the novel Revolutionary Road, which was made into a successful feature film in 2008?
- By the 18th century, what dessert had become so popular in America that Yale College served it every night for more than a century?
Operated by the Swire Group, Mr & Mrs Fox opened last year, with Derek Li acting as sommelier, Kovic Rai heading up the bar and Peter Murray as restaurant manager.
Murray commented on the changing nature of Quarry Bay, from a densely packed suburb to a new destination increasingly offering better dining and drinking options – while still remaining densely packed – as new businesses open up further outside of Central district.
“We launched the monthly pub quiz aimed at bringing something different to the Quarry Bay neighbourhood,” he said.
“Mr & Mrs Fox has been one of the favorite neighborhood hangouts and restaurants in the district and our guests always looking for something exciting happening in the restaurant, whether it’s a new menu, new cocktail or interesting activities.
“There is a very positive sense of comrade and competitiveness around the corporate businesses in the Quarry Bay neighborhood and we felt that this also gives them a chance to put their skills to the test and mostly important, to enjoy a night filled with laughter as well as some good food and drinks!”
Teams can be between four to six people with team names submitted to the team at Mr & Mrs Fox.
Happily, the quiz also coincides with Mr & Mrs Fox’s new daily happy hour from 5-8pm with selected drinks priced at HK$50 and above.
