Luke Mangan in first HK pop-up
The Australian celebrity chef, Luke Mangan will appear at the Conrad’s Brasserie on The Eighth in an 11-day takeover in October.
Based in Singapore, Luke Mangan owns a plethora of restaurants around the Asia Pacific, including Salt grill & Sky bar in Singapore, the glass brasserie in the Hilton Sydney, and Salt and World Wine Bar in Tokyo as well as operating the Salt grill brand across five P&O cruise liners and in Jakarta.
He is also the consulting chef for Virgin Australia. From 13 October for 11 days, Luke will host a pop-up event at the Conrad’s Brasserie on The Eighth that he has christened Salt on the Eight, using signature dishes from Salt, including sashimi of Australian kingfish, and crab omelette with of enoki mushroom and miso mustard broth.
Hailing from Melbourne, Mangan honed his talents at Hermann Schneider’s Two Faces Restaurant and then moved to Michel Roux’s three-Michelin starred The Waterside Inn in London before opening the first Salt restaurant in Darlinghurst, Sydney at the age of 29.
Dinner will be served up as six or eight courses priced at HK$988 and HK$1,188 with cocktails made by Mangan’s mixologist team from MOJO, his wine and tapas bar in Sydney.
