Harvey Nichols to stock rosé gummy sweets

Harvey Nichols is to stock Sugarfina Yes Way Rosé gummy sweets – the Whispering Angel rosé-containing confections which have generated an 18,000-strong waiting list in the US.

California-based luxury confectionery brand Sugarfina introduced the limited edition products – both bear-shaped and rosette-shaped gummy sweets – in the US in June 2016. As reported in the drinks business, the sweets sold out during the pre-sale period in two hours, crashing the Sugarfina website in the process.

In August db reported that the waiting list in the US had exceeded 14,000 people. Now the list has more than 18,000 names, with 800 people asking to join the list every day.

Harvey Nichols has stocked the product – each batch of which contains “several cases” of Whispering Angel rosé – online and in stores nationwide since 5 September.

Sugarfina introduced a the high-end confectionery brand concept in the US in 2012 with its range of luxurious, but innovative sweets including dark chocolate, bacon and booze combinations, cocktail-inspired and gummy sweets.

The company now has six boutiques in California and many celebrity fans, including Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Bieber and Oprah Winfrey. Sugarfina’s product range launched in the UK at Harvey Nichols in February this year.
