Almaviva launches 2014 vintage to HK
Renowned Chilean winery, Almaviva has recently released its 2014 vintage to the Hong Kong wine market.
Capitalising on its existing popularity in Asia, Almaviva chose to launch its newly released 2014 vintage in Hong Kong, alongside magnum bottles of older vintages of 2003 and 2008.
The 19th vintage of Almaviva commemorates the life of the late Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and the collaboration between Viña Concha y Toro and Baron Philippe de Rothschild was deemed Chile’s ‘first growth’ upon its first vintage release of 1996 which launched in 1998.
Described as a “superb vintage”, 2014 comprises “elegance and power with a dark ruby red colour. The nose reveals a generous, layered and powerful bouquet of blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, associated with hints of cedar and spices, fine notes of vanilla, walnut, licorice and dark chocolate.”
At only HK$4,375 per case, it was rated 97 points by critic James Suckling and follows on from its international release announced earlier this month.
