Thai takeover with Bo.Lan’s HK pop-up
Dylan Jones and Duangporn Songvisava, the husband and wife team behind one of Bangkok’s most revered restaurants, Bo.Lan will descend on Hong Kong for a three-week takeover of PMQ’s Isono restaurant.
Duangporn Songvisava (nicknamed Bo) and Dylan Jones (Lan) – hence Bo.Lan
Reigning on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant List for the last few years, Bangkok’s Bo.Lan restaurant brings a taste of Thailand to Hong Kong’S PMQ from now until 11 September.
From 17-20 August, the husband and wife chef team, Duangporn Songvisava (nicknamed Bo) and Dylan Jones (Lan), will champion the best of seasonal Thai produce with a signature lunch and dinner menu of grilled chicken salad with spicy palm sugar dressing and seasonal fruit, stir-fried prawn with young Thai pumpkin, and snake skin pear steeped in perfumed sugar syrup and crushed ice.
Afterwards, the team will introduce Bo.Lan’s sister restaurant, Err from 17 August to 11 September which will recreate fancied-up versions of Bangkok’s street food and snacks alongside paired Thai cocktails.
Bo.Lan in Bangok’s Wattaya district is currently aiming to be a zero carbon restaurant by 2018. As well as being an amalgamation of the chefs’ names, Bo.Lan is also a play on the Thai word for vintage or ancient. Bo was also named as Asia’s Best Female Chef in 2013.
