Tesco offers same day Click & Collect
Tesco has boosted its online offer by rolling out same day delivery on Click and Collect service in around 300 stores.
The move means consumers will be able to pick up online orders of wine and groceries in store by 4pm if they order by 1pm. The service will be available in around 90% of the stores where Click and Collect is already available and follows a trial of the service in around 200 stores.
Orders are free if the total spend is more than £40, the retailer said.
The service covers its grocery site and there are no changes to its Tesco’s Wine-by-the-case site.
In February , the retailer introduced a £2 surcharge on its Tesco Direct Click and Collect service which it said was necessary to make it “sustainable”.
Last month rival Sainsbury’s announced it was piloting a same day delivery service in three London branches, as well as a limited one-hour delivery service operated from an app.
Amazon also offers a same-day service as part of its link-up with Morrisons,w which is available on Amazon’s premium paid-for service, Amazon Prime Now and Amazon Pantry.
