Rosé gummy bears waiting list hits 14k
Demand for a US confectioner’s Whispering Angel rosé-infused gummy bears has gone stratospheric – with a waiting list for the product now exceeding 14,000 people.
Sugarfina’s Rosé All Day gummy bears are infused with Whispering Angel Rosé
Launched by LA-based luxury confectioner Sugarfina, the Rosé All Day gummy bears and Yes Way Rosé rose-shaped sweets sold out within two hours of going on sale on June 22, crashing the company’s website on several occasions, according to company co-founder Rosie O’Neill.
A waiting list for new batches of the gummy product reached several hundred within days of the product selling out. Now, fewer than two on, more than 14,000 people have joined a waiting list to get their hands on the Provence rosé-flavoured treats.
O’Neill began noticing stories from people who were trying to buy the gummies as part of their marriage proposals; one even wrote a poem in the hope of charming her way to the top of the waiting list, Today.com reported.
O’Neill admitted that a “sample or two were sent to a few A-list celebrities, plus the girl who wrote an amazing poem also got a box for making us smile”.
The gummy bears – which are infused with rosé wine from Whispering Angel producer Château D’Esclans, continue to attract around 70 people to sign up to the wait list every day.
Co-owner O’Neill said: “We had no idea it would be this crazy.”
