Luxury Mercedes concept contains wine chiller
The vast new Mercedes-Maybach concept car has limited luggage space but incorporates a special compartment for carrying wine.
Called the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, the luxury four-seater was unveiled at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance, with the ‘6’ thought to represent the car’s extraordinary size at almost six metres long.
It has an electric motor and impressive performance – 0-62mph takes fewer than 4 seconds and it will keep accelerating until it reaches a limited 155mph – but it’s the drinks-carrying capabilities that db is interested in.
Relative to the machine’s external dimensions, the Mercedes-Maybach seems to have little space for either people or their luggage, but it does include a bespoke bottle chiller designed to carry two bottles of wine, which suggests that wine is the ultimate travel accessory – even more important than a set of golf clubs…
This upmarket drinks cabinet will set you back around $500,000, according to insideevs.com, that is, should it ever make it to production.
