Premium rum brand Facundo Eximo has created a cocktail in honour of cult US political drama House of Cards‘ 13 nominations at the upcoming 2016 Emmy awards.

Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood in House of Cards

The Bacardi-owned brand said its cocktail, the Eximo Old Fashioned, was a “fiery, masculine” cocktail “worthy of Frank Underwood” – the drama series’ main character.

The Emmys take place on Sunday 18 September, and include a nomination for House of Cards lead actor and executive director Kevin Spacey, who is up for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award for his portrayal of Frank Underwood.

“Whether you’re hosting a viewing party or tuning in on your own, the Eximo Old Fashioned is a sophisticated cocktail that takes cues from the Bourbon-based classic and is easy to make at home,” a statement from the rim brand said.

“Underwood hails from South Carolina, where the Old Fashioned is a Southern cocktail staple, making the Eximo Old Fashioned the simple and authentic cocktail to mix for the occasion.

“Impress your guests with the refreshing spin on a cocktail classic and follow in Underwood’s footsteps by sipping on an Eximo Old Fashioned to celebrate a House of Cards win – or to plot your revenge.”
