Brewery makes ‘I miss the old Kanye’ beer
An American brewery has released an imperial porter in tribute to Kanye West called ‘I Miss The Old Kanye’.
The beer is believed to be inspired by the many personalities of Kanye, made from 23 different flavours that together are said to taste a bit like Dr Pepper.
The name is a reference to a 44-second self-referential skit called I Love Kanye on the rapper’s new album Life of Pablo, with the track starting with the line “I miss the old Kanye”.
Produced by Stillwater Artisanal brewery in Baltimore, the 8% abv beer’s tagline reads: “I’ve been afflicted by not one, not two, but all twenty-three flavors. I’m always one-of-a-kind.”
We’re not quite sure what that means either, but according to Stillwater Artisinal the beer tastes a bit like Dr Pepper, with ingredients including cloves, juniper, plums, prunes, star anise and vanilla.
It’s not the first hip-hop inspired beer to be brewed by Stillwater, which was founded by former DJ Brian Stillwater.
Earlier this year it released the Drake-inspired Hopvine Bling, and it also has a beer named Moneytree$ for rapper Kendrick Lamar.
