BBR appoints new private clients director
London fine wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd has announced the appointment of Nick Morton in the new role of director of private clients.
Morton joins the wine merchant from the Help for Heroes charity, where he has worked as marketing director since 2014. He was responsible for setting up the charity’s marketing operations and developing marketing and business strategy.
Prior to Help for Heroes, Morton was head of marketing at Pernod Ricard UK, working across the company’s luxury brands portfolio. He also has experience in the spirits sector, having worked for three years at First Drinks Brands.
Commenting on the appointment, BBR chief executive Dan Jago said: “We are delighted to welcome Nick to the team. With his experience within the drink and luxury sectors I am certain he will be a great asset to the business.”

In his role as director of private clients, Morton will be responsible for the areas of the business serving BBR’s large private client base, including online and retail sales, services and events.
“As with every retail company, customers need to be kept firmly at the heart of the business. I look forward to playing my part in ensuring that every one of Berry Bros & Rudd’s customers enjoys the exceptional service and outstanding experience associated with a company of this standing,” Morton said.
Morton’s appointment follows the appointment of prominent UK wine writer Will Lyons as a senior fine wine executive for the company in April of this year. More recently, BBR hired Nick Hanley, formerly of Direct Wines, as its new operations director.
