The plush hotel bar scooped the top spot at the 10th annual Spirited Awards at the Tales of the Cocktail festival in New Orleans.
Four of the eight nominees in the ‘World’s Best Cocktail Bar’ category, including Callooh Callay, Happiness Forgets and Hawksmoor Spitalfields hailed from London.
Ryan Chetiyawardana’s Dandelyan at the Mondrian hotel picked up the best cocktail menu award, while Oriole in Clerkenwell, the Nightjar’s little sister, was voted the best new international cocktail bar.
Erik Lorincz and his crew at the American Bar at The Savoy scooped the best international bar team award, while Hawksmoor Spitalfields was named best international restaurant bar.
Smuggler’s Cove in San Francisco was named the best bar in America, while The Elephant Bar at New York’s The Nomad won best US hotel bar.
Winners were voted for by a panel of over 100 industry experts. The awards ceremony took place at The Sheraton hotel in New Orleans.
