Ruinart to sponsor Frieze Art fairs
By Rupert MillarChampagne Ruinart has announced it is to be the official Champagne of the Frieze Art fairs in the US and UK.
Bringing the tally of its contemporary art sponsorships to 30, Ruinart will be served at Frieze London, the Frieze Masters and Frieze New York this autumn and next spring.
Frédéric Dufour, president and CEO of Ruinart, said: “We are delighted to be the official Champagne for Frieze, and in particular to collaborate with the fairs in both the UK and the US, two key markets for Maison Ruinart.”
“Maison Ruinart commissioned its first artist, Alphonse Mucha, 120 years ago and since then has continued to form a close relationship with contemporary art, giving ‘carte blanche’ to renowned artists – the most recent being the famous photographer Erwin Olaf – and supporting the biggest global art fairs.”
Earlier this year Ruinart commissioned Olaf to capture images of the house’s famous cellars in Reims (pictured). previous artistic collaborations have includedHubert le Gall, Georgia Russell and Piet Hein Eek.

The Frieze art shows are annual exhibitions that bring together thousands of contemporary artists.
Frieze London and the Frieze Masters will take place this October and Frieze New York in May 2017.
