New Michelin Guide launched in Singapore
A week before the release of the 2016 Michelin Guide Singapore, Michelin has also unveiled 34 restaurants and street food outlets distinguished with a Bib Gourmand.
Characterised by the Michelin inspectors as offering a high quality menu at a reasonable price, the designated Bib Gourmand venues encompass Singapore’s eclectic dining possibilities – from high end restaurants to hawker centres – all with a maximum price of S$45 (£25) for a meal.
“With some firm favourites selected by our inspectors for their good value for money, we are particularly pleased to present a preview of the Bib Gourmand establishments included in the 2016 Michelin Guide Singapore,” said Michael Ellis, Michelin Guides’ international director.
The preview of the Bib Gourmand selection which will all be contained in the Michelin Guide, represent 19 cuisines, including Indian, Cantonese and Vietnamese in recognition of Singapore’s multicultural dining scene with the full guide launching on 21 July.
Singapore is the fourth Asian destination to gain a Michelin Guide, with Guides to Hong Kong and Macau and the Japanese cities of Tokyo, Yokohama and Shonan and Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara all launching in 2012.
