The Liv-ex Fine Wine 1000, which tracks a broad selection of fine wines, rose 3.4% last month.
With the Fine Wine 100 rising 2.1% in June, the Fine Wine 1000 went rather better with a gain of over 3%, the “largest positive move since May 2007” according to Liv-ex, while the last time the index was at a similar level was September 2011.
All the sub-indices rose in June with the strongest performer being the Burgundy 150 which went up 5.2% and is now the best-performing sub-index over the course of one year where it’s up 8.1%.
The Bordeaux 500 sub-index rose 2.9% and the Bordeaux Legends 50 was the second-best performer of the month, up 4.4%.
The Champagne 50, Italy 100 and Rest of the World 50 all rose over 1% while even the ‘sick man’ of the sub-indices, the Rhône 100, managed a 0.9% uptick.
