Wine and jelly bean pairing guide released
We’ve heard of a lot of quirky food and wine pairings in our time, but none more so than a new wine and jelly bean pairing guide that has just been released.
The brainchild of Francisco-based Gimbal’s Fine Candies, the guide pairs seven different grape varieties with a quartet of jelly bean flavours designed to harmonise with the flavours commonly found in the wine.
Suggest jelly bean pairings for Riesling, for example, include green apple, kiwi and pomegranate, while key lime and pineapple are recommended for Sauvignon Blanc.
As you might expect, French vanilla and buttered popcorn are suggested for Chardonnay, while Cabernet fans should pair their glass with chocolate and root beer beans.
Toasted marshmallow and raspberry are recommended for Merlot, and wild cherry and coconut are said to pair well with a glass of Pinot Noir.
