Gosset names new cellar master
Champagne Gosset has named Odilon de Varine as its new cellar-master.
Varine, who will take up the post with immediate effect, replaces Jean-Pierre Mareigner who sadly passed away in May.
A trained oenologist with 15 years of experience in Burgundy, Alsace, California and New Zealand, he joined Gosset in 2006 as deputy managing director, a role in which he will remain.
With his mother a grower from Burgundy and his father a former vineyard manager for Veuve Clicquot, wine is in Varine’s blood.
He said: “We are all eager to continue, with the same passion and quality approach by applying the principles set in place by our former cellar-master: ‘At Gosset we first create a wine. The bubbles sublimate it’.”
