Ex-William Grant CEO rejoins Bacardi
Stella David, former CEO of William Grant & Sons, has been elected to the board of directors of Bacardi Limited – returning to the Bermuda-based spirits company after 10 years.
David, 53, was the chief executive officer of William Grant & Sons from 2009 until February 2016. During her time there, the company acquired the Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey and Drambuie liqueur.
Prior to this, David worked for 15 years, from 1994 to 2009, for Bacardi holding a variety of positions including chief executive officer of the United Kingdom, Irish, Dutch and African business; vice president of global operations; managing director Asia Pacific; and global chief marketing officer.
She also holds an engineering degree from Cambridge University.
“Stella brings further expertise in the management and marketing of global spirits brands to the Bacardi board”, said Facundo L. Bacardi, great-great grandson of the company’s founder and a fifth generation Bacardi family member.
“We are thrilled to have her back with us as her nearly 25 years of spirits industry experience with both Bacardi and William Grant will serve us well as we continue to grow and innovate”.
David replaces Georgia Garinois-Melenikiotou, executive vice president of Corporate Marketing at Estée Lauder Companies, Inc., who is retiring from the Board after three years.
