Estates & Wines team up with chef Elzer

The wine division of Moët Hennessy, Estates & Wines has partnered up with Michelin starred chef, Olivier Elzer to host a “mini gastronomic” festival in Hong Kong.

Taking place in the serene outdoor terrace of Elzer’s restaurant, Seasons by Olivier in Causeway Bay from 23-25 June, ‘Sip & Savour in the Garden’ will highlight Estates and Wines’ portfolio alongside Elzer’s much-loved modern European dishes.

Guests can make their own Bellinis with Estates & Wines’ Chandon from the Yarra Valley and taste tuna belly with Cloudy Bay’s Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Elsewhere, the lamb booth offers lamb chops with Shiraz and Cabernet Merlot from Cape Mentelle from Margaret River, Western Australia and the beef booth combines beef skewers with hearty Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec by Terrazas de los Andes.

“Each of the pairings comes from mutual inspiration between our chefs and sommeliers, and is dedicated to our serious food and wine lovers,” said Elzer.

“Food and wine pairing goes way beyond mere eating and drinking. It’s a never-ending discovery of balancing structures, textures and flavours. The right matching of food and wine is like a good marriage, which can elevate a good meal to a memorable one.”

Elzer is the former executive chef at Hong Kong’s L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, following a stint at the Mandarin Oriental’s Pierre restaurant. He opened Seasons by Olivier in 2014 after seeing a space in the market for, as he said at the time, “a competitively priced fine dining restaurant.”

Estates & Wines is the wine division of Moët Hennessy and looks after Cloudy Bay in New Zealand, Cape Mentelle in Australia, Newton Vineyard in Napa, Terrazzas and Cheval des Andes in Argentina, Numanthia in Spain and sparkling wine brand, Chandon which has estates in Argentina, Brazil, California, Australia, India and China.
