Denis O’Flynn to leave Pernod after 16 years
WSTA chairman and managing director of Pernod Ricard UK, Denis O’Flynn, is to leave the wine and spirits group after 16 years at the company.
Denis O’Flynn has worked for Pernod Richard since 2000 and will leave the group in September this year
He will officially step down from his senior role at Pernod Ricard at the end of September. Commenting on his departure, Denis O’Flynn said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the last five years at Pernod Ricard UK. Working with a great team, I am proud of our continued progress in both the on- and off-trade and our increased market share as well as the consolidation of our company strategy ‘Shaping the Nation’s Drinking Experiences’.
Continuing, he said, “I am also honoured to have been the chairman of the WSTA and to get to know so many people through the last few important years for the UK drinks industry.”
O’Flynn, who hails from Ireland, has worked for Pernod Ricard for the past 16 years, having joined the group’s Irish spirits division, Irish Distillers, in 2000.
Concluding on his departure, he remarked, “My decision to leave is the right one for me and my family and I am delighted to be returning to Dublin to be with them.”
Laurent Pillet, who is currently CEO of Pernod Ricard, Sub-Saharan Africa, will replace Denis as PRUK managing director.
