Brewery mocks Trump with ‘Dumb Donald’ beer
A US brewery has made its contribution to the ongoing Presidential campaign with the release of a beer called ‘Dumb Donald’, leaving no question as to its views on the politician.
“Dumb Donald”, a double IPA brewed with Key Lime, has been produced by Chicago’s Spiteful Brewing and takes a swipe at the Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Its label shows Trump walking between a monkey and a normal man – a tongue-in-cheek reference to the evolution of man.
If you were in no doubt to the brewer’s views on Trump already, it label further explains their distaste for the billionaire politician.
“Dumb Donald is, well, dumb. So dumb in fact, we named a beer after him. It’s like he got caught in a pause halfway through evolution. His brain still functions, at a minimal level with a vocabulary of a second grade student. You might even start to feel sorry for this man-child. Resist that urge, pop open this Key lime DIPPA and pretend you’re on a far away island where people like Dumb Donald simply don’t exist.”
Spiteful Brewing is not the first brewery to use its beer to mock Trump. Earlier this year the Dock Street Brewery in Philadelphia launched an anti-Trump range entitled “Friends don’t let friends vote Drumpf” – a reference to political comedian John Oliver’s popular “Make Donald Drumpf Again” meme.
Trump’s family anglicized their German surname’s spelling after immigrating to the United States.
The first beer to be named in the range was a 4.5% abv Short-Fingered Stout, which it described as “a bitter and delusional stout with an airy, light-colored head atop a so-so body.
