Anthony Hanson to retire from Christie’s
Christie’s senior consultant Anthony Hanson MW is to step down after 15 years in the role this 30 June.
Hanson joined the auctioneer in 2000 and was instrumental in securing Christie’s bid to become the hosts of the Hospices de Beaune sale in 2005.
Last year the annual charity sale broke records when it realised €11.3 million, including a winning bid of over €400,000 for the pièce des presidents lot.
It was announced last month that Berry Bros & Rudd’s Jasper Morris MW would replace Hanson as senior consultant for the Hospices sale.
Hanson meanwhile will maintain a consultancy position at Christie’s working on specific projects.
