Vinitaly Hong Kong confirmed at HKIWSF 2016
Giovanni Mantovani, the CEO of VeronaFiere has confirmed Vinitaly’s presence at Hong Kong’s International Wine and Spirits Fair 2016, via an MOU signed with Hong Kong’s Trade and Development Council.
The MOU signed by Johnny Wan, HKTDC exhibitions market development director and Giovanni Mantovani, CEO and director general of VeronaFiere
This year’s Hong Kong’s International Wine and Spirits Fair (HKIWSF) will also see the launch of business networking platform, wine2wine Asia the day before the show starts on 9 November.
Giovanni Mantovani, CEO of VeronaFiere, the organiser of Vinitaly said he anticipates wine2wine Asia to create an “Italian wine community” at the HKIWSF, much as the original event, wine2wine has done at previous Vinitaly shows in Verona.
“There will be an interactive space which gives a unique opportunity for producers and operators in the sector to find ideas, updates and insights dealing with the latest trends and topics through meetings and workshops with internationally renowned speakers,” he said.
The MOU has agreed that Vinitaly Hong Kong will be the exclusive area dedicated to Italy in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and will act as a focal point for Italian wine producers throughout the fair.
Mantovani also said that Italian wine producers seeking to take part in Vinitaly Hong Kong and reach new target audiences can buy made-to-measure packages that offer the chance to obtain CMO (Common Market Organizations) funds from the EU through Vinitaly.
“This is an important upgrade for our internationalization operations, not the least in the wake of the excellent results seen during the 50th edition of Vinitaly in Verona – which posted a 23% increase in foreign buyers from all major established and emerging markets, with peaks of +130% for China,” he said.
This year’s Hong Kong International Wine and Spirits Fair will run from 10-12 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
