Ornellaia raises €114,000 for charity
A charity auction featuring the eighth edition of Super Tuscan Ornellaia’s ‘L’Eleganza Vendemmia d’Artista’ series has raised €114,000 for the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles.
Conducted by Sotheby’s executive vice-president, Andrea Fiuczynski (pictured above), the sale saw just nine lots of 2013 Ornellaia bearing limited edition artwork by Yutaka Sone go under the hammer.
All proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the Hammer Museum’s exhibitions and collections, as well as the 300-odd public programmes it holds throughout the year and which are free to the general public.
The final results mean Ornellaia’s art series has raised over €1 million for various artistic institutions around the world in New York, London, Berlin, Milan and Shanghai.
This June, more of the bottles and artwork will be displayed at the Italian embassy in Tokyo to help celebrate 150 years of Japanese-Italian diplomatic relations.
