Nominations open for IWSC retailer awards
The International Wine & Spirit Competition 2016 (IWSC) is now accepting nominations for its Independent Retailer and Online Retailer of the Year award categories.
This year’s IWSC’s Annual Awards Banquet will be held on 16 November at the Guildhall in London
The Independent Retailer award, now in its 9th year, recognises the key role played by independent merchants in encouraging the understanding, and sales, of quality wines and spirits.
Last year, the award went to South Downs Cellar, and in 2014 was awarded to Birmingham wine merchant Loki Wines.
The Online Retailer Award, sponsored by Esoterica, seeks to recognise and reward the innovative work demonstrated by the many online businesses in the world of wines and spirits.
Last year the award went to The Whisky Exchange, and in its inaugural year it was awarded to Master of Malt.
Nominations for both awards close on the 30 May, with voting open from 3 June to 20 June. After the votes are counted, a final shortlist will be revealed, with the judging of the final line-up taking place shortly after.
The winners will be announced at the IWSC Annual Awards Banquet at the Guildhall on Wednesday, 16 November.
