Motörhead branches out into cider
British heavy metal band Motörhead has launched its first new drink since the death of frontman Lemmy last December – a cider named Snaggletooth.

The 5.5% ABV Snaggletooth Cider, described by the band as “kick ass”, has been in development for a year and will be distributed via Global Brews.
The bottled cider, made in Worcestershire from a blend of Dabinet, Michelin and dessert apple varieties, will go on sale at Morrison’s nationwide on 16 May.
“As a long time cider aficionado I am well qualified and proud to recommend this golden liquid,” said Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell.
The band entered the world of drinks production in 2010 with the launch of Motörhead Shiraz packaged in a guitar amp. It has since expanded its range to include a vodka, lager and a whisky produced by Swedish distillery Mackmyra. Future Motörhead drinks releases are in the pipeline.
Motörhead’s frontman Lemmy died on 28 December aged 70 just days after being diagnosed with cancer. Considered one of the linchpins of hard rock, over 230,000 people logged on to see his memorial service, which was streamed live on YouTube on 9 January.
The same month, a petition to rename the Jack Daniel’s and Coke serve a “Lemmy” after his favourite drink drummed up 43,813 signatures.
Download at Donington Park in Leicestershire in June will name a stage in Lemmy’s honour and will be showing tribute footage to him during the festival.
