Graham’s extends Port bond to single bottles
Graham’s has extended its Vintage Port Bond, which allows consumers to purchase vintage Port in the year of its harvest, to include single bottles.
Available for £80, Graham’s single bottle vintage Port bond follows the launch of its Vintage Port Bond scheme last year, which gave consumers the chance to purchase a case of Vintage Port in its harvest year, while the grapes are still on the vine.
Prior to its introduction, there was no easy way to gift Vintage Port to mark an occasion – such as marriage or the birth of a child – as the wine is only ‘declared’ and offered for sale nearly two years after the harvest.
The scheme allows consumers to gift vintage Port in the year of its harvest, to be redeemed once the wine is bottled and shipped some 18 months later.
“Following the initial success of this project, we wanted to ensure we were making this gift as accessible as possible to our consumers, and so we are delighted to now introduce a single bottle Vintage Port Bond alongside the six bottle case,” said Paul Symington, head of Symington Family Estates.
“The new Vintage Port Bond provides a special and memorable gift at very reasonable value.”
Graham’s Vintage Port Bond is available at £80 for a single bottle or £390 for a case and can be purchased from specialist retailers such as Vintage Wine & Port, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Selfridges, Hedonism, Tanners, Jeroboams, Fortnum & Mason, Vagabond, Seckford Wines and Tanners.
Dear Mr. Symington,
How about making this program available in the United States, as well? We get married and have babies here, too.
